Doctoral institutions

INSA Rouen Normandie is actively involved in the Normandie Université collegiate community in France’s Normandy region.

The doctoral community consists of three Normandy universities, ENSICAEN in Caen and INSA Rouen Normandie.

INSA Rouen Normandie stands out among the three following doctoral institutions:

Normande de Chimie

Created on January 1st 2008, Normande de Chimie (EDNC), is an offshoot of the Normande de Chimie-Biologie (ED 96 NCB) doctoral institution, which is authorized to confer doctorates since 1992. Known for its dual-specialty approach, Normande de Chimie was instrumental in bringing together, strengthening and obtaining certification for its community of research teams.

MIIS

A result of the merging of two doctoral institutions SIMEM and SPMII, MIIS is accredited by the Normandie Université ComUE since January 1st, 2017. The institution’s goal is to train high-profile doctoral students to manage prominent scientific projects in digital social sciences:

  • mathematics (fundamental and applied)
  • information technology and science

PSIME

The PSIME Doctoral Institution (Physics, Engineering Sciences, Materials, Energy - ED 591), came about from the merging of the SIMEM and SPMII Doctoral Institutions. It is accredited by the Normandie Université ComUE since January 1st, 2017.

The institution aims to train high-profile doctoral students to manage prominent scientific projects in regional scientific academic disciplines:

  • Physics, Nuclear Physics and materials
  • Chemistry, Solid State Chemistry, Process Engineering, Biology
  • Energetics, Mechanics, Optics, Electronics, Engineering Sciences
