Social security coverage
As of September 1, 2019, all students are attached to the primary health insurance fund of their place of residence.
The contribution is abolished.
- If you are enrolling for the first time in higher education and have a carte vitale or a carte européenne d'assurance maladie (CEAM) you don't need to do anything.
- For foreign students, the Registrar's Office will help you to register for social security at the start of the academic year (it is advisable to have private health cover until the end of September).
For more information on student social security, visit the AMELI website.
- The contribution to student and campus life
Since the start of the 2018 academic year, the CVEC has been set up to promote social, health, cultural and sports reception and support for students and to bolster the preventive and health education actions carried out for them.
The contribution is payable each year by students and apprentices when they register for initial training at a higher education establishment (excluding international exchange students).
Students receiving a CROUS grant or annual allowance for the 2024-2025 academic year are exempt from paying this contribution. Students with refugee or subsidiary protection status, or who are registered by the competent authority as asylum seekers (by decision of the CROUS) may also be exempt.
All students - including those who are exempt from paying the CVEC (except those in continuing education funded by a third party) - must provide proof of payment of the CVEC when registering with the school.
To do so, go to MesServices.Etudiant.gouv.fr and follow the instructions (payment of 100 euros or submission of proof) to obtain this certificate.
Individuals not concerned by the CVEC:
- International exchange students at INSA Rouen Normandie
- Continuing education interns (resumption of studies and professionalization contracts)
