As part of the CARMEN laboratory at INSA Rouen Normandy, and within the framework of the HyFoundationS project, you will play an essential role in the smooth operation of the laboratory by carrying out the following tasks:
- Extract and analyze approximately 200 different samples in triplicate, collected from a contaminated site.
- Analyze the nature of the pollutants: hydrocarbons, PAHs, metals, and ions.
- Perform extractions in accordance with current standards (e.g., NF ISO 18287) and develop a more environmentally responsible protocol (in terms of time and solvent quantity) using pressure extraction.
- Analyze and quantify using GC-FID, GC-MS, ion chromatography, and ICP/MS, depending on the pollutant. Compare methods and write a research article in English
- Participate in scientific outreach activities
- Participate in the laboratory’s community life
Key Skills:
Expertise in chromatography and mass spectrometry, multi-technique data processing, and writing reports and publications in English
Operational Skills:
Solvent-based sample extraction, GC-FID, GC/MS, and ICP/MS analysis, ion chromatography, and data processing
Expected Experience:
Initial experience in an analytical laboratory managing multiple samples using various analytical techniques
Expected Degree:
Master’s degree or engineering degree
